Favorite Character: Cordelia

I'm not always the biggest fan of Charisma's acting, but she's at her best in this episode. The look on her face when it dawns on her that Xander's spell was for her is priceless. And her speech at the end - well I stand up and cheer every time.

Musings

• Jenny is just so graceful and so pretty, and darn it, I just hate that she really gets the shaft in this show.
• Good lines: Buffy: I just think you could find someone more... better. Xander: What, were you running low on dramatic irony? Xander: Quit with the Hecate! Spike: ...what rhymes with lung?
• I actually rather like Valentine's Day, which is odd, since I'm not a fan of Hallmark :)
• I love Harmony's complete and utter lack of wit. Her insults are so stupid they're funny, especially in comparison to the never-ending wit that the Scoobies have.
• What are the color-chart-looking poster things in Cordy's locker? Does anyone know?
• I love the music right after the spell is cast.
• Xander is great with his hopefulness and the crushing realization that it's a spell and Buffy is under it. Ouch.
• When Buffy says, I'll calm down when you explain yourself, she sounds just like her mother, which is a pretty cool touch (intentional? who knows) since we all channel our parents occasionally.
• It's interesting that the angriest Giles ever gets with the gang is whenever one of them misuses magic. I love the character development of Giles throughout the whole series, especially the explanations of his Ripper days, which is why he's so leary of magic abuse.
• Adding the lunch lady to the throng of Xander-admirers was a nice touch.
